TurnKey File Server 13.0 is a Debian based Linux appliance which turn our pc into a powerful file server for your network. TurnKey File Server 13.0 is a free and open source project you can use. Here I will show you how to install TurnKey File Server 13.0. Its pretty easy to install TurnKey File Server 13.0 on a PC or Virtual Machine.
Steps to install TurnKey File Server 13.0
First, download the ISO file of TurnKey File Server 13.0 from the official website. Select the ISO from the download option. Next, boot your VM or PC or Server with the ISO.
On the first boot, you will see the following partitioning window. This step will partition your disk for the installation.
Next select the disk for the installation.
Confirm the disk configuration step
Now enter the amount of volume group for guided partitioning. Leaving it as default value is fine.
Now the installation will take place
At the end of the installation process you will be asked to install GRUB on the disk. Select Yes to start the installation
Finally restart your computer
Upon restart, you will be asked to enter the new root password for the new TurnKey File Server instance. Type your new password and confirm it
Now enter the AjaXplorer local admin password and confirm it
If you have TurnKey Backup and Migrate account, you can enter your API key on the next step. Skip this step if you don’t own license.
Next is to install the security updates. Skip it if you don’t want to install updates.
When all done, you will see the following window displaying how to access the server from web browser and start managing the server. Enjoy
