The new version of Univention Corporate Server 4.0-1 is now available for download. Univention Corporate Server is a powerful Linux server designed for enterprise and personal use which comes with many features you need to build a powerful file server, domain controller etc. On this tutorial, I am going to show you how to install Univention Corporate Server 4.0-1 and use it as a Primary Domain Controller (PDC) on your network.
Steps to Create Primary Domain Controller using Univention Corporate Server 4.0-1
Boot your computer using Univention Corporate Server 4.0-1 ISO. On the first boot, select the first option to Install Univention Corporate Server.
Next, select the installation language. English is the default language. Press Continue
Next, select your country
Now select locale from the list. Leave the default value if you have no idea.
Now select your keyboard layout
After selecting keyboard layout, the installation will check any files required for the installation, check your network connection etc. Next, create root password. This root password also will be used for the administrator password for web management console.
Now its time to configure the clock.
Disk Management
You will be redirected to the disk partition page. Here you can select how the disk will be partitioned for the Univention system.
Select the disk for the system installation
