GIS Weather is a nice and informative weather forecast widget for Linux system. The new version of GIS Weather 0.6.3 is now available. For Elementary OS Luna users, you may install GIS Weather 0.6.3 using the DEB file provided by the developer. GIS Weather widget will get its data from http://www.gismeteo.com/ or http://weather.com and then display them on a nice widget on your Desktop. GIS Weather is a full GUI application which can be configured via GUI.
On the first run, you will need to add your city code. Go to www.gismeteo.com and search for your city there. Then, copy or type the number for your city to GIS Weather.
When done, you will see the GIS Weather widget displayed on your screen. Drag to move the position. In Elementary OS Luna, you will need to re-positioned it using the Window settings in Preferences.
To install GIS Weather 0.6.3 on Ubuntu 14.04, Elementary OS Luna, PinguyOS and all other Ubuntu derivatives, please follow the following steps:
