On the previous post, I already shown how to install Nethserver 6.6 from the scratch. After installation finished, we need to configure several things in order to run Nethserver 6.6 properly. Its not a hard task to configure Nethserver. You can do the configuration from other computer on the same network. Please read the tutorial how to install Nethserver 6.6 first before reading this post.
Make sure Nethserver is up and running. Then open web browser on other computer and type:
https://your-server-ipaddress:980
On the first screen, you will see a login page. Use the default username: root and Nethesis,1234 as the password
Next the configuration wizard page will show up
Press Next to continue to the next step. On this step we need to change the root password.
Next is to set the hostname for Nethserver
Set the date and time. Select the time zone from the list.
Configure the ssh port. The default value is 22 you can change this port to other port such as 2222
Select No if you don’t want to use the statistic
Please review the settings before press Apply.
When you press Apply, Nethserver will apply the configuration. When finished, you can see the Nethserver server manager/dashboard where you can access to various settings for your server.
