Budgie Desktop is a simple, lightweight and beautiful desktop environment for Linux. Budgie Desktop was used as the default desktop environment on Solus OS. But Budgie can be installed on almost any Linux flavors including Ubuntu. Here I will show you how to install Budgie on Ubuntu 16.04. On this tutorial, I had an Ubuntu 16.04 with default Unity desktop installed.
Steps to install Budgie desktop on Ubuntu 16.04
Open Terminal and execute the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:budgie-remix/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install budgie-desktop
Once completed, simply log out and select Budgie desktop from the login page.
