How to install FrostWire 5.7.5 on Zorin OS 9

This tutorial will show you how to install ForstWire 5.7.5 on Zorin OS 9. FrostWire is a rich features bittorrent client which previously known as Gnutella. The FrostWire client can be used to send large files and folders. ForstWire needs Java to run and based on the official announcement, ForstWire 5.7.5 now uses Java 8 to run better. Before you install Frostwire, make sure you already installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on Zorin OS. Please read my previous tutorial on how to install Oracle Java Runtime Environment on Zorin OS 9.

Steps to install FrostWire 5.7.5 on Zorin OS 9

A. Check if Java installed on system

Run this command on Terminal to see if Java installed correctly

[codesyntax lang=”bash”]

[/codesyntax]

You should see something similar to this output

[codesyntax lang=”bash”]

[/codesyntax]

If not, you must install Java on Zorin 9 first.

B. Install FrostWire 5.7.5

Run this command to install FrostWire 5.7.5 on Zorin OS 9

[codesyntax lang=”bash”]

[/codesyntax]

Now run FrostWire
