How to install Google Chrome on Debian 8 Jessie

This tutorial is going to show you how to install Google Chrome on Debian 8 Jessie. Google Chrome is a must have web browser for Linux users. It comes with many new features, many security bug fixes and some other improvements. Google Chrome is not available through Debian repository, so we need to install it from the official package.

Steps to install Google Chrome on Debian 8 Jessie

A. Download Google Chrome installation package

Please visit this page and select your system arch from the list. You will be redirected to the download file once you select the arch. You will have this kind of file.

google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb

B. Install the package

I recommend you to install the package using Terminal. Simply cd to the download directory and install it

cd /home/fitri/Downloads
su
dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb

In case of missing dependency error, continue with this command

apt-get -f install
