Steps to Install Kernel 3.18 RC2 On Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04

A. For 32 bit system

Since there is no PPA repository for this Kernel, we need to install it manually. Open Terminal and paste these commands

Next use this command to install those packages

sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-3.18*.deb linux-image-3.18*.deb

Once finished, reboot your computer.

B. For 64 bit system

Install the packages using this command

sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-3.18*.deb linux-image-3.18*.deb

Reboot your computer to complete the installation.
