How to install LXQT on OpenSUSE 13.1

This tutorial is going to show you how to install LXQT on OpenSUSE 13.1. LXQt is the Qt port and the upcoming version of LXDE, the Lightweight Desktop Environment. It is the product of the merge between the LXDE-Qt and the Razor-qt projects: A lightweight, modular, blazing-fast and user-friendly desktop environment. Since there is an official repository of PXQT for OpenSUSE 13.1, we can easily install LXQT on OpenSUSE 13.1. The most recent version of LXQT is version 0.7.0 when this post is written.

Setup LXQT repository on OpenSUSE 13.1

Refresh the repository

Install LXQT

When done, simply log out and re login. Select LXQT Desktop from the login screen option. Now enjoy the lightweight LxQt desktop on OpenSUSE 13.1

    What are the requirements on the the machine before installing LXQT? I tried the above steps on a clean install with only a minimal X install. The basic X login have no option to select desktop environment and login now get me to a Openbox 3 environment.
