Here I would like to show you how to install MySQL Server on a Debian 8.3 system. Installing MySQL Server on Debian is pretty easy. With a single command, we can get MySQL Server up and running on Debian system.

Steps to install MySQL Server on Debian 8.3

Open Terminal and type the following command to install MySQL Server on Debian

The command will install both Server and Client tool for MySQL. During installation you will be asked to specify the root password for MySQL. Once completed, MySQL Server should be up and running. You may check the MySQL service with this command:

It should display something like this:

As you can see MySQL service status is running.
