How to install nginx on Xubuntu 14.04

nginx is a powerful web server which is also lightweight and has many features. On this tutorial I am going to show you how to install nginx on Xubuntu 14.04. nginx is available through Ubuntu repository so we can easily install nginx via command line using apt-get command. Or, you can use my previous tutorial on How to install nginx 1.6.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 for more up to date nginx version.

To install nginx, simply paste this command on Terminal:

When done, type Y and press Enter to confirm the installation.

Once finished, start nginx

Next, open Firefox or Google Chrome on any other web browser you have and type:

http://localhost or http://ip-address

You should see something like this
