This tutorial will show you how to install Onlyoffice Desktop Editor on Ubuntu 16.10. Onlyoffice is a free, online Office suite that can be used to edit documents, spreadsheet and power point files. It has many features such as Team collaboration mode where we can edit a document files with a team seamlessly.
Onlyoffice supports Microsoft Office files including DOCX, XLSX and PPTX. Its a cool Office Suite with nice user interface.
I have created an installation script that can be used to install Onlyoffice on Ubuntu based Linux. To install Onlyoffice Desktop Editor on Ubuntu 16.10, 1604, do the following:
- Download the Installation script
- Make it executable
- Run the script
Step 1. Download the installation script
Step 2. Make it executable
chmod +x UbuntuSoft.sh
Step 3. Run the script
sh UbuntuSoft.sh
Select OnlyOffice from the list and press OK. Wait until the installation completed. Please do not close the Terminal window. You will be asked to enter the root password during installation.
