This tutorial is going to show you How to install Oracle Java 7 Runtime Environment (JRE) on Deepin 2014. I’ve made a simple installation script for Ubuntu users and its compatible with Deepin 2014. This script will use the webupd8 PPA repository and then install Oracle Java 7 on your system.

A. Download the script.

B. Execute the script.

To open this script, you can right click on it and select Open. Then click Run in Terminal. Or, you can do the following command to open:

[codesyntax lang=”bash”]

[/codesyntax]

Scroll down using up and down arrow and select Oracle-Java. Press Enter to start the installation.

install oracle java 7 on deepin 2014 1

You will be asked to accept the license agreement during this process. Wait until the download and installation process is finished.

install oracle java 7 on deepin 2014 2

Once finished, you can check if Java is correctly installed by typing this command on Terminal

[codesyntax lang=”bash”]

[/codesyntax]

It should returned something like this:

dhani@dhani-pc:~$ java -version
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=gasp
java version “1.7.0_65”
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_65-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.65-b04, mixed mode)
