How to install Simple Screen Recorder on Fedora 21

I was looking for a screencast software for my Fedora 21. Finally, I found this Simple Screen Recorder aka SSR. SSR is very simple, easy to use and support HD resolution to record my desktop activity and then share them on my YouTube Channel. Here I want to share my experience on how to install Simple Screen Recorder on Fedora 21.

Steps to install Simple Screen Recorder on Fedora 21

A. Install RPM Fusion repository to Fedora 21

We need to set up the RPM Fusion repository first. Execute this command below to enable the RPM Fusion repository

B. Add the SSR repository

Next, add the Nickth SSR repostory to the system

cd /etc/yum.repos.d
su
wget https://copr.fedoraproject.org/coprs/nickth/ssr/repo/fedora-21/nickth-ssr-fedora-21.repo

C. Install Simple Screen Recorder

Finally, use this command to install Simple Screen Recorder on Fedora 21

su
yum install ssr

install ssr on fedora 21

Done.

    Perhaps you can do a tutorial on how to use it as well as showing the settings that you use.

    It looks like it’s been removed from the website. Using wget I get 404 so can’t install it anymore.
