The new version of Darktable 2.2.1 is now available for download. The new Darktable 2.2.1 brings some important new features such as show a dialog box when locking the database or library failed. As you might know, Darktable is a special software for photography which has main feature to edit the RAW images from digital cameras. It supports various RAW formats from different camera makers such as Canon, Nikon, SONY etc.
New features on Darktable 2.2.1
- Show a dialog window that tells when locking the database/library failed
- Ask before deleting history stack from lightable.
- preferences: make features that are not available (greyed out) more obvious

Install Darktable 2.2.1 on Ubuntu 16.10
In case you want to install Darktable 2.2.1 on Ubuntu 16.10 system, or simply upgrade your existing Darktable installation, you can do the following.
Add the repository
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmjdebruijn/darktable-release
Update repository
sudo apt-get update
Install Darktable
sudo apt-get install darktable
