Install Plex Media Server 0.9.9 on Zorin OS 9

Plex Media Server is a free and powerful multimedia application which can be used to turn your Linux distribution into a multimedia server. You can then stream, watch movies, listen to your music or even display slideshow of your photo collections from any supported devices remotely. Install Plex Media Server on a computer and you can watch them from any location at home with WiFi connection.

Plex Media Server comes with a nice web dashboard to manage your server remotely. You can add your movies, mp3 collection to the server and PMS will scan and manage them automatically. The most recent version of Plex Media Server 0.9.9 is now available for Ubuntu based Linux. If you are using Zorin OS 9, you can easily install Plex Media Server on your system without problems.

Install Plex Media Server 0.9.9 on Zorin OS 9

To install, please visit the download page for Plex Media Server for Linux. Select the Ubuntu package based on your Arch. If you are running 64 bit system you must select the 64 bit.

Next, execute the following command to install the package

64 bit system

[/codesyntax]

32 bit system

[codesyntax lang=”bash”]

[/codesyntax]

Once finished, you can access the Plex Media Server dashboard using your web browser and type

http://your-ip-address:32400/manage
