Install rsnapshot on CentOS 6.4

Rsnapshot is a powerful automatic backup utility for Linux. It provide a powerful automatic backup solution for Linux system. We can perform backup to a specific directory and store it locally or even to another server using ssh or samba.

This tutorial is going to show you how to install rsnapshot on CentOS 6.4. Before we can install rsnapshot on CentOS 6.4, make sure you have enabled EPEL and RPMFusion on CentOS 6.4.

Next. open terminal and type this command as root

yum install rsnapshot

In a moment, rsnapshot should be installed. You can configure the backup preferences and settings under /etc/rsnapshot.conf

Edit this file to match your backup plan. I will separately discuss how to create an automatic backup in another post.
