I just installed OpenSUSE Leap 42.2 on my DELL Inspiron laptop and this post was written on it. I chose Gnome as the Desktop Environment. The desktop selection is available during the installation of OpenSUSE Leap 42.2. I am not too impressed with the “look” of this OpenSUSE Leap 42.2 Gnome. Its pretty standard and old fashioned. It will take some works to make my OpenSUSE Gnome desktop looks prettier.
Let me start with the Desktop.
OpenSUSE Leap 42.2 comes with a green bulb wallpaper and standard Gnome look. Activities button on the top left, day and date at the center and on top right you can find some notifications button, network manager etc. The shutdown and other power options can be accessed through this top right menu as well.
Top right panel menu
This is the tool you need to access most system configuration in OpenSUSE.
So far, I don’t have any problem with my OpenSUSE Leap. All devices are working correctly such as Webcam, audio, video graphic card etc.
