Plex Media Server is now available, how to install it on Xubuntu 14.04

Plex Media Server (PMS) is a multiplatform, free and powerful multimedia server. PMS can turn your computer into a powerful multimedia server for your network. You can stream movies, music from other computer or devices such as Android phones, SONY Home Theater and many more. The new version of Plex Media Server is now available for Linux. This new version includes several improvements such as:

  • Crash handling concurrent HTTP connections.
  • Crash uploading CloudSync files.
  • Other miscellaneous crashes.

This tutorial is going to show you how to install Plex Media Server on Xubuntu 14.04 as well as Ubuntu 14.04 and derivatives

A. Download Plex Media Server DEB package

B. Install package

Done. Now open web browser and type http://localhost:32400/manage. You can start managing your Plex Media Server via web interface.
