Timeshift is a GUI application that mostly used for system backup purposes. It can create a complete system backup and also clone the system. You may able to create an incremental, scheduled backup easily. Timeshift supports for most Linux distribution such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora.
This tutorial is going to show you how to install the latest stable version of Timeshift on Fedora 21. Before we go through, maybe you want to have a look at Timeshift running on my Ozon OS Hydrogen (Fedora 21 based).
To install Timeshift on Fedora 21, follow these steps.
First we need to add the repository to the system.
cd /etc/yum.repos.d
su
wget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:Kenzy:packages/Fedora_21/home:Kenzy:packages.repo
Now install Timeshift
yum install timeshift
When installation is completed, you can start using Timeshift to backup your Fedora system. It will look for any available devices. It is good to have another disks, USB disk connected to the system to store the backup.
