How to download YouTube videos on Ubuntu 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0, PinguyOS 14.04

There are several ways to download videos from YouTube website. You can use youtube-dl application for Linux (no GUI), Flareget and some other Firefox extensions or Google Chrome addon. But the easiest way to download YouTube videos using FlareGet. Flareget is a rich features download manager that features YouTube video grabbing. Flareget will offer any available video quality, so you can select which quality you want to download. This tutorial is going to show you how to download video from YouTube.

First, make sure you have installed FlareGet on Ubuntu 14.04. 

Open YoutTube video and copy the url video of your YoutTube video. For example:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNLXO9Mw6NQ

Now Open FlareGet and go to File | Add Youtube URL and paste the link you’ve copied there.

Click Parse and you can choose the video formats and quality available for your video.

Click the video and press Start. In a moment your video will be ready.
