To add functionality to my Xubuntu 14.04, I installed Docky on it. Docky is a set of shortcut icons grouped on a nice dock. I think its a must have application for all Xubuntu users. This tutorial is going to show you how to install Docky on Xubuntu 14.04. The latest version of Docky 2.2.1 is now available through repository. So we can easily install Docky on Xubuntu 14.04
To install, simply open sources.list
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Now add these two lines to the bottom of the sources.list file
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/docky-core/ppa/ubuntu trusty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/docky-core/ppa/ubuntu trusty main
Now update Xubuntu
sudo apt-get update
And finally install Docky
sudo apt-get install docky
Now run Docky from the application list.
