How to install Google Chrome 39 on OpenMandriva

The new version of Google Chrome 39 is now available for download. This tutorial will show you how to install Google Chrome 39 on OpenMandriva system. This tutorial can be used on other Linux desktop such as Mageia and ROSA Desktop. The new Google Chrome 39 brings a lot of improvements, bug fixes and many other updates. Installing Google Chrome 39 on OpenMandriva system is pretty easy. There is RPM repository for Google Chrome that is compatible with OpenMandriva, Mageia and ROSA.

Steps to install Google Chrome 39 on OpenMandriva, Mageia and ROSA

A. For 32 bit system

Open Terminal and paste these commands below:

sudo rpm –import https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub
sudo urpmi.addmedia –update chrome_i386 http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/i386
sudo urpmi google-chrome-stable

B. For 64 bit system

Open Terminal and paste this command

sudo rpm –import https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub
sudo urpmi.addmedia –update chrome_x86_64 http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/x86_64
sudo urpmi google-chrome-stable
