The new Google Chrome 49.0 is now available for Linux system. This tutorial will show you how to install Google Chrome on Debian 8.3.0 desktop. Debian 8.3.0 comes with Iceweasel web browser as the default web browsing application. But, you can freely add and install other web browser you like such as Google Chrome, Firefox or Opera and some others.
To install Google Chrome on Debian 8.3.0, do the following steps.
A. Download Google Chrome package for Debian based Linux
https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
B. Install gdebi
Its not mandatory to install gdebi on Debian, but gdebi offers a seamless installation and automatic dependency files resolution. Use this command to install gdebi
sudo apt-get install gdebi
C. Install Google Chrome
Now cd to your download directory and then install Google Chrome DEB package
cd /home/dhani/Downloads
sudo gdebi google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
Done. Now enjoy Google Chrome 49.0 on Debian 8.3.0
