How to install Google Chrome on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus

By default, Ubuntu 16.04 has Mozilla Firefox installed. In case you don’t want to use Firefox and prefer Google Chrome as your default web browser, you may download and install Google Chrome on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus. On this tutorial, I will show you how to install Google Chrome on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus.

First, download Google Chrome DEB package from the following link.

https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/

Select DEB version and save it to your download directory. To install, simply right click on the DEB file and select Open with GDebi Package Installer.

If you prefer Terminal installation, you may use the following command.

sudo apt-get install gdebi
sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
