How to install Mondo backup tool on Fedora 21

Mondo is a command line backup tool for Linux. It supports wide range of Linux distribution including Fedora. The most recent version supports up to Fedora 21. I haven’t tried to install Mondo on Fedora 22. This tutorial is going to show you how to install Mondo backup tool on Fedora 21. Install Mondo on Fedora 21 is pretty easy since it has specific repository for Fedora system.

Install Mondo on Fedora 21

Open Terminal and paste this command to install mondo rescue repository to Fedora 21.

su
cd /etc/yum.repos.d
wget ftp://ftp.mondorescue.org/fedora/21/x86_64/mondorescue.repo
yum install mondo

Wait until the installation completed. When finished, you can start using Mondo to backup your Fedora 21 using it. Here is the screenshot of Mondo rescue on Fedora 21

Mondo backup supports local media, tape drive, USB keys/disk even network shared folder.

To run Mondo backup, execute this command as root

mondoarchive
