How to install TimeShift 1.7.2 on Mannjaro 0.8.13

Need a system backup for Manjaro? Try TimeShift, a popular system snapshot application for Linux. TimeShift for Linux is a application that provides functionality similar to the System Restore feature in Windows and the Time Machine tool in Mac OS. TimeShift protects your system by taking incremental snapshots of the file system at regular intervals.

The most recent version of TimeShift 1.7.2 is available and here I want to show you how to install TimeShift 1.5 on Manjaro 0.8.13. Since there is no repository available for Manjaro, we need to install TimeShift using binary package.

First, you will need to download TimeShift binary. Select based on your architecture below:

Once downloaded, we need to make this binary executable. Open Terminal and cd to the download directory and make it executable.

cd /home/dhani/Downloads
chmod +x timeshift-latest-amd64.run

* Change your download location and file name with yours

Next start installing TimeShift with this command

su
./timeshift-latest-amd64.run

Follow the installation wizard shown on your Terminal. Answer Y to start installing some dependency files.

Thank you.
