This tutorial is going to show you how to install Webmin 1.780 on Ubuntu based Linux. It can be installed on Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 15.04 and Ubuntu 15.10. Webmin is a web based Linux administration tool. It can be used to manage your Linux server remotely via web browser.
On this tutorial, I will show you how to install Webmin on Ubuntu via Terminal session. Please follow these steps to install Webmin on Ubuntu.
First download Webmin DEB package from the official website. You can simply use the following command instead:
wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin_1.780_all.deb
Now install the package
sudo gdebi webmin_1.780_all.deb
I recommend to use gdebi, you may install it first.
sudo apt-get install gdebi
Once finished, you can open Webmin page using web browser with the following address:
https://yourserver-ip-address:10000
Example:
https://192.168.8.1:10000
