XBMC is a multimedia center and good to build our own home theatre. The new XBMC 13 codename Gotham has been released. This tutorial is going to show you how to install XBMC 13 "Gotham" on Ubuntu 14.04. XBMC can play CDs and DVDs directly from the disk or image file, almost all popular archive formats from your hard drive, and even files inside ZIP and RAR archives. It will even scan all of your media and automatically create a personalized library complete with box covers, descriptions, and fan art.
To install XBMC 13 "Gotham" on Ubuntu 14.04 please follow these procedures
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc
When done, go to Dash application menu and type xbmc. Now you can start your own home theatre using XBMC on your Ubuntu 14.04.
