On this Shell script tutorial, I am going to show you how the progress dialog works. The progress dialog will be active whenever a process is still under go. When the process is finished, the progress dialog also terminated.
For example, this script below will show the progress dialog when a given command “apt-get update” is executed.
sudo apt-get update | tee >(zenity --progress --pulsate --auto-close --text "System update in progress......Please Wait") >text.txt
Then when the script is executed, the following progress dialog is shown
