sudo apt-get -f install
Special for Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty 64 bit edition, you can execute this command to fix skin issue
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-murrine:i386 gtk2-engines-pixbuf:i386 sni-qt:i386
Now, Skype 4.2 should be installed on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr.
