There is an interesting way to improve the performance of our Nextcloud server. Memcache is a feature in PHP that can be used to improve the overall Nextcloud server. It helps Owncloud and Nextcloud to avoid slow database query. This tutorial will show you how to enable Memcache feature on Nextcloud. This tutorial is correlated to my previous tutorial to install Nextcloud. You may want to read the tutorial to install Nextcloud on my Arch Linux server.
How to enable Memcache feature on Nextcloud
Step 1. Enable the extension
sudo nano /etc/php/conf.d/apcu.ini
Uncomment the following line
Now add the following line to /usr/share/webapps/nextcloud/config/config.php
‘memcache.local’ => ‘\OC\Memcache\APCu’,
Step 2. Restart Web Server
sudo systemctl restart httpd.service
OK, now Memcache is enabled. Thank you.
