How to install LAMP on Ubuntu 17.04 Server

This tutorial is going to show you how to install LAMP on Ubuntu 17.04 Server. LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP which is a great combination to create a powerful web application server. Installing LAMP on Ubuntu 17.04 is very easy. Once we have LAMP installed, we can then install various web applications such as Owncloud, Nextcloud, and many more.

Steps to install LAMP on Ubuntu 17.04 Server

Step 1. Install Apache web server

sudo apt install apache2

Start Apache

sudo systemctl start apache2
sudo systemctl enable apache2

Step 2. Install MySQL Server

sudo apt install mysql-server

Secure MySQL Server installation

mysql_secure_installation

Start and enable MySQL

sudo systemctl start mysql
sudo systemctl enable mysql

Step 3. Install PHP

sudo apt install php php-mysql
