As a system administrator, I cannot live without Team Viewer installed on my workstation. Team Viewer is the most popular remote desktop application. The new version of Team Viewer 11 is now available for download. This new version brings a lot of improvements. This tutorial will guide you how to install team Viewer 11 on Elementary OS Freya 0.3.2. I have tested this method and it works.
Its a bit tricky to install Team Viewer 11 on Elementary OS Freya on 64 bit system since the DEB package provided by the official TeamViewer needs some i386 arch packages. But don’t worry, we can solve it easily.
First, add the i386 arch to the system by executing this command
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 sudo apt-get update
Next, download Team Viewer 11 DEB for Ubuntu system. You can use the following command to download it via terminal.
cd /home/fitri/Downloads wget http://download.teamviewer.com/download/teamviewer_i386.deb
Install gdebi (I prefer this app installer on my Ubuntu based Linux). Its handy and will solve the dependency files automatically.
sudo apt-get install gdebi cd /home/fitri/Downloads sudo gdebi teamviewer_i386.deb
When done, you can start using Team Viewer 11 on Elementary OS Freya 0.3.2. Thanks for come by.
