On this Linux installation tutorial, I will show you how to install Manjaro version 0.8.11 Gnome edition. There will be screenshots on each step on the installation process. Manjaro is an Arch based Linux which comes with a graphical installation tool. We can install Manjaro 0.8.11 in few minutes. The current version of Manjaro 0.8.11 is in development version and the final release will be available soon.
Steps to install Manjaro 0.8.11
1. Download Manjaro 0.8.11 ISO
You can visit this download page to get the most recent version of Manjaro Linux ISO. Now boot your computer with the ISO file.
2. Start the installation
On the Manjaro desktop, find the icon or shortcut “Install Manjaro” to start the installation wizard.
3. Select the installation language
4. Select your country or area
5. System check
The wizard will check your system configuration. If all conditions are met, you can continue to the next step. Make sure you have at least 6 GB of hard disk space to install Manjaro 0.8.11. Other items are optional.
6. Region settings
Select your current location. This will help Manjaro to select the best server or the closest server for the repository to download any packages in the future.
7. Select Keyboard layout
Select your keyboard layout from the list.
8. Installation Type
Select how Manjaro will be installed on your hard disk. The easiest way is to use the entire disk for Manjaro installation but make sure there are any data on the disk because the system will wipe the disk.
9. Select the drive
On this example I use the automatic installation type. Now we need to select in which drive Manjaro will be installed. Press Install Now and Manjaro is now installing.
10. Create new user
Here we need to setup a new user for Manjaro
11. Installation progress
After creating user, Manjaro will continue installing on your system. Wait until this process is completed
12. Restart computer
Now enjoy Manjaro 0.8.11
