Google Chrome is my favorite web browser. So, the first thing I do everytime I test a Linux distribution, installing Google Chrome is the priority among others. Here I want to show you how to install Google Chrome 38.0 on my OpenSUSE 13.2. Installing Google Chrome on OpenSUSE 13.2 is pretty simple. There is a RPM package of Google Chrome which supports OpenSUSE 13.2. This method also can be used on OpenSUSE 13.1 as well.
Steps to install Google Chrome 38 on OpenSUSE 13.2
A. Download Google Chrome 38 RPM package
To download, please visit this page: https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/ select RPM package and your system arch.
You will get a file called similar to this one: google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm
B. Install Google Chrome
Now you are ready to install Google Chrome RPM package on OpenSUSE 13.2. Before you install this package, you will need to install one package called lsb. Without this package, Google Chrome cannot be installed on OpenSUSE 13.2. Open Terminal and type this command
su
zypper in -y lsb
rpm -ivh google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm
Change google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm with your actual file name you’ve just downloaded.
